Lots of frustrating combination controls, and the QTEs are especially annoying. Not as smooth or polished though, at least with mouse and keyboard. Game basically plays like Dead Space now, which is good. The strafing is pretty slow and almost useless but I do appreciate the faster 4 directional movement. It plays just like 4 and 5 in my opinion, and people loved those games I believe. Honestly so far not seeing why people hated the game. Probably dumb because I didn't like 4 and 5 much, but I took a chance because of the supposedly better shooter controls, which were my main gripe with those games. StingingVelvet: Got this in the Steam $10 sale. Please just please indies make a Fixed camara RE clone already :( Kennedy so much to freaking pretty boy, he is like the Batman of this series, to act like a salmon for once I liked Chris' campaign yeah the Call of Duty like campaign (which was only at the beginning of the game later on its stops being call of duty like) and the fact that Chris is just a normal looking guy, at least he does not look like a pretty boy like Leon. Oh Leon's campaign was no fucking different from Chris and Jake's campaign, they were all equally the same action packed campaigns, I mean honestly why do we glorify Leon S. And I hate the zombies in this game, they are not the slow moving, flesh eating corpses I liked in the classics, they are exactly the same as the Ganado/Majini guys from 4 and 5. Oh and the monsters/mutants are so dull and forgettable, they ain't no fucking Hunters, Lickers, Ivies, and Tyrants thats for sure.
At worse its a big ass motherfucking betrayal to a series I love.īut as I played its really nothing different from RE4 and 5, but the story is just ridiculously imo Resident Evil should have never kept up with continuity. Well I finally played this freaking game and let me tell you its exactly what I was expecting so let me sum it up:Īt best its a functional game thats fun for once in a while. Ain't touched the other 2 campaigns, so can't speak on those yet. I don't LOVE Chris's campaign so far, so, don't get me wrong here I still need to play it more, though - to really give a fair full-blown opinion of Chris's campaign. As someone who plays LOTS of shooters and does like those military games (I still think COD4 was the best of the recent COD's, BTW), I'm so far actually liking Chris's campaign. I'm currently working on Chris campaign, but yeah - it feels like a COD & any recent BF game (constant barrage of military talk, lots of soldiers as AI) and some of the RE stuff thrown in (Inventory and both some humans and some zombies to battle). Now, to RE6 - I am currently in the midst of playing RE6, and I thought Leon's campaign was awesome.
of the 2 games, RE4 felt like the better game and felt very fresh to me, while RE5 was just a much better PC port on a lot of technical stuff. I loved both RE4 and RE5, all for different reasons - i.e. Unfortunately, RE4 PC was my first entry into the series. It's just, DAO is a masterpiece - and often when you follow a masterpiece with a sequel that just is good game, people will crap all over it.Ībout RE series - let's take into account I came late into the series. While DAO was one of the best party-based strategic-RPG's since BG2, DA2 even despite its numerous problems (recycled environments, lack of strategy compare to DAO in combat, story was nowhere as epic as DAO, etc) was still good. Personally - I liked DS2: Broken World the best out of the DS games. While DS3 probably had the best story of the club (thanks, Obsidian), while I was fine w/ the gameplay, I preferred the style DS1 and DS2 used. I did like DS3 and thought it was good - yeah, I'll certainly take DS1: LOA Edition + DS2: Complete over DS3 any-day, gameplay-wise. There's a good chance when a game has a masterpiece in the series, they'll NEVER top that again or they won't come even remotely close to that level of greatness in a LONG time. I think the problem arises when gamers expect the moon on a sequel. Perhaps the same could be said for Dragon Age as well. It's quite a good game if you aren't expecting I or II. Dzsono: I suppose it's like Dungeon Siege III.
